As the sun begins to set, we pause atop the highest dune for a breathtaking photo opportunity. The panoramic view of the desert bathed in golden light is simply spectacular.
Our journey continues to a traditional Bedouin-style campsite nestled deep in the heart of the desert. Here, a warm Arabian welcome awaits—complete with fragrant Arabic coffee (Kawa) and fresh dates. For added refreshment, a selection of soft drinks, tea, and water is also available.
Camel Ride
A short but memorable camel ride adds a touch of authentic desert charm. For those looking to unwind, try smoking the aromatic Sheesha (also known as Hubbly Bubbly)—a signature Middle Eastern experience with a variety of smooth, fruity flavors.
Ladies can enjoy the artistry of intricate Henna tattoos, delicately applied in beautiful floral and geometric designs—a timeless tradition in Arabian culture.
As evening falls, relax on plush carpets and cushions under the star-lit sky while a delicious BBQ dinner is prepared. The aroma of grilled meats and spices fills the air as you’re treated to a sumptuous buffet of Arabian and international cuisine.
Entertainment unfolds with the mesmerizing performance of a belly dancer, who brings the night to life with graceful, rhythmic movements in sync with traditional music. What's included in an evening desert safari?
A typical evening desert safari (around 6–7 hours) in Dubai includes hotel pickup, a dune-bashing 4×4 ride (30–45 min), camel ride, sandboarding, and a barbecue dinner with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. After dusk, you’ll enjoy cultural entertainment like Yola (fire) dance, falconry displays, henna painting, and more. Soft drinks and tea/coffee are usually provided as part of the experience.
Is hotel pickup and drop-off provided?
Yes. Evening safaris include round-trip pickup and drop-off from hotels or residences in Dubai. This transfer is included in the tour price, so you only pay the advertised rate for the safari and activities.
What should I wear and bring?
Wear light, comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses are recommended due to strong sun. Since the temperature drops after sunset, you may want a light jacket. Camel and dune rides are bumpy, so avoid loose accessories. Bring a camera for desert photos; water and tea are provided, but bring personal water if desired.
Are children allowed on an evening safari?
Yes. Children over about 3 years old are welcome, but keep in mind the activities are moderate in intensity. Dune-bashing and camel-riding can be jolting, so very young children or those sensitive to motion may prefer to stay in camp. Family packages are common, and children usually enjoy the camel rides and shows. (Infants typically ride seated with parents.
Can pregnant women or guests with health issues participate?
Pregnant women and guests with back or heart problems are usually not advised to join dune bashing due to its rough nature. However, they may still enjoy the less strenuous parts (e.g. the camp, dinner, and shows). Always inform the operator beforehand and follow any safety guidelines the guides give.
