What's included on a yacht tour?
A private yacht tour usually includes a skipper/crew, fuel, and basic refreshments. Typical packages (~1–2 hours) cruise around key Dubai landmarks: Palm Jumeirah, Atlantis Hotel, Burj Al Arab, Marina skyline, etc. Soft drinks and water are usually provided onboard. Some tours offer extra items (fruit platters, snorkeling gear) at an additional charge. Alcohol is allowed on many Dubai yacht charters (above age 18), but confirm with the operator.
How many people fit on a yacht?
Dubai charter yachts range from small (about 6–8 guests) to large party yachts (dozens of guests). You choose a size when booking. Rates are often per hour per yacht, so a group can split cost. Yachts will have toilets and seating areas; some have indoor cabins and sound systems. For large groups, find a bigger vessel; for couples/small parties, a small cruiser suffices.
What should I wear and bring?
Wear smart-casual or beach-casual attire. For daytime tours, guests often wear bathing suits or light summer clothing. Non-skid shoes or sandals are good. Bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. If you want to swim, bring a swimsuit and towel (some yachts anchor for a swim). Some tours include snorkeling gear. Because yachts are stable, nothing formal is needed unless it’s a special dinner cruise.
Is food or drink included?
Basic refreshments (tea, coffee, soft drinks) are usually included. A 1–2 hour charter often comes with fruit, nuts, or hors d’oeuvres; longer cruises may offer full catering. Alcoholic drinks (beer, wine, spirits) are often available either included (for a premium tour) or for purchase onboard. Confirm policies: some allow BYOB (you supply bottles), others only allow alcohol purchased through them. Food catering (like a seafood BBQ) can be arranged for longer private charters (especially sunsets).
When do tours run?
Yacht tours operate year-round, but weather matters. High-season is October–May. Afternoon/evening (sunset) cruises are very popular for the cooler views and skyline lights. Daytime cruises (around noon) offer clear sea and city views but can be hot in summer. Morning cruises are rare (water is calmest).
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, especially in peak tourist seasons and for larger yachts. Small cruise operators allow last-minute booking, but it’s safer to reserve a day or two ahead for standard tours. Provide the number of guests and desired itinerary (e.g., 2-hour Palm cruise) when booking. Cancellation policies vary, but many allow free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
