What are the age requirements?

 In Dubai, driving a jet ski requires a minimum age of 14. Children under 14 can ride as passengers with an adult driver. Drivers must present original ID (passport/Emirates ID) to comply with regulations. Operators enforce these rules strictly for safety.

No special license is needed for a short guided tour jet ski ride. Tours include instruction on a single-seater Jet Ski, and a guide remains in communication. The local rule is age-based, not license-based. However, riders must provide a photo ID and sign a waiver. The rental company ensures you understand the local maritime rules.

Typical jet ski tour durations are 30 or 60 minutes on the water. The guide will show you the route (often around the Palm or along Jumeirah coastline) and may stop for brief breaks. You get to control the speed (within safety limits) while the guide stays nearby. Time starts when you actually hit the water; consider transit to the marina in your schedule.

Life jackets are mandatory and provided for all riders. Helmets are generally not used (because jet skis are on water). After a short briefing, you’ll be required to wear the PFD (personal floatation device). The operator will explain hand signals or provide a whistle in case you need to communicate with the support boat.

Wear swimwear or quick-dry shorts and a rash guard. It’s normal to get splashed, so nothing valuable or heavy – leave jewelry and electronics onshore. Bring a towel and change of clothes. Sunglasses with a strap are fine. Apply waterproof sunscreen. Most people rent a secure waterproof phone case if they want to take a camera or phone. Remember to bring your passport or Emirates ID for check-in.
